This class is a blend of Eastern modalities, including martial arts-related Tai Chi, the physical exercise and breathe control of Qi Gong, and the movements and awareness of Yoga all in the water. The movements are slow and gentle cultivating the flow of life force energy, or chi, to reflect a balanced mind, body and spirit. This form of low impact exercise helps prepare your body for daily activities by using water resistance and buoyancy to improve muscular strength and endurance. Additional benefits include boosting the immune system, alleviating aches and pains, improving posture, balance, coordination, endurance, flexibility, and increasing joint and tendon strength.
The instructor, Janet Ku, is a certified instructor in Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Yoga, Aquatic Fitness and Silver Sneakers. Janet is originally from Taiwan and her practice combines both Eastern and Western exercises with a focus on strengthening her clients’ external and internal well-being.
