EXPLORE imaging

PRO Medical offers advanced imaging technology to assist physicians with an accurate diagnosis and help in developing a treatment plan.

PRO Medical features the following imaging services and equipment to provide a clear, clean image for diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Onsite access provides convenience and expediency for those seeking care with our physicians and medical experts.

MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING (MRI)

MRI is a safe and painless test that uses a magnetic field and radio waves to produce detailed pictures of the body's organs and structures; no radiation is used and there are no known risks or side effects linked with having an MRI scan. At PRO Medical, we provide a unique ambient immersive experience that puts patients in control of their environment to improve comfort.

Our 1.5T MRI Ingenia is equipped with Philips Ambient system offering a variety of dynamic LED light themes, video, and sound escapes to provide a comforting, immersive, and engaging experience. The ambient features help to reduce noise, improve comfort, and turn the examination into an event. Plus, clear patient instructions are provided in a soothing voice to help guide the patient through the examination and provide relaxing breath hold guidance. Exclusive ComforTone® sound techniques also aid in noise reduction to provide a superb patient experience.

X-RAY

X-Ray imaging helps your surgeon visualize internal structures (i.e. bones) without having to make an incision. This can help to diagnose, monitor, and treat many medical conditions.

DXA SCAN | DUAL-EMISSION X-RAY ABSORPTIOMETRY

DXA is the gold standard used for both body composition testing and bone density scans. With pinpoint accuracy, this unique X-ray system can provide a detailed snapshot of your body composition, revealing exactly how your body breaks down into fat, bone, and lean muscle mass tissue. DXA scans are also commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis. A small dose of ionizing radiation is used to create pictures inside the body, enabling the measurement of any bone loss.

A body composition test allows you to:

  • Measure total body fat percentage
  • Set and track goals for fitness and weight-loss
  • Monitor effectiveness of fitness training
  • Evaluate bone density (assess risk for osteoporosis)

DXA is strongly recommend if you:

  • Are a post-menopausal woman and not taking hormonal replacement therapy
  • Have a history of hip fracture or smoking
  • Are a man with clinical conditions of bone loss
  • Use medications that are known to cause bone loss
  • Have Type 1 Diabetes, liver disease, kidney disease or family history of osteoporosis
  • High bone turnover
  • Have a thyroid condition
  • Have Parathyroid condition
  • Experienced a fracture after mild trauma
  • Have X-ray evidence of vertebral fracture
