The first step is getting scheduled for an initial visit, where we will meet with you to decide if you are a good candidate for IV therapy. We’ll review your medical history, evaluate and decide on an infusion based on your health state. Please fill out our intake form and questionnaire before your appointment.
During the IV, you have the option of sitting or reclining back. The procedure for starting an IV is much like a blood draw. Once the IV is placed, there is just a small flexible plastic (BPA-free) tube in your arm, no needle. We have very small needles and can use a numbing spray if you desire.
An IV therapy appointment typically lasts approximately 60-90 minutes based on if you are a returning patient or if it is your first time with us. At the beginning of each appointment, we will check-in with you to discuss your infusion options based on your current health status, take a few vitals, and then begin treatment. Our infusions were tailored to be infused over an hour; however, each patient’s venous flow will ultimately determine how long it will take. Please come well hydrated.
For an optimal IV treatment, it is important to arrive to your appointment well hydrated and having eaten some protein at least one hour prior to ensure that the venous puncture is successful and to avoid feeling dizzy or light-headed. It is recommended to wear layered clothing as your body temperature could vary during treatment. You may want to bring something to do while you are waiting. If you want to watch a movie or listen to music on your phone or computer, be sure to bring headphones.
