Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the “gold standard” treatment option for spider and reticular veins on the legs. This efficient technique involves the injection of an FDA approved chemical solution called Sotradechol into the vein. The solution irritates those cells lining the vein, which causes the vein wall to collapse and disappear – as they re-absorbed into the body. Sclerotherapy is largely painless, though you may feel small needle pricks and possibly a mild itching sensation.
